Our Founder

  Savoy Bath & Home founder, artist and soap maker Maryellen Finan started exploring a new medium, when she began making handmade soap in early 2016.  Maryellen discovered the art of soap making, when she began searching for a way to avoid the many chemicals found in commercial soap.  After attending the annual Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild ​conference, Maryellen returned equipped with the knowledge to begin formulating her own soap recipes. Many of her family members were happy to help her test out her new soap until the perfect recipes were formed.
The dedication and creativity Maryellen has always given to anything she creates is now evident in the handcrafted bath and body products she produces for her new endeavor, Savoy Bath & Home. In 2018, Maryellen plans to expand Savoy Bath & Home's product line to include hand-poured soy wax candles with all cotton wicks.
Maryellen graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Illustration. She spent many years in New York City’s garment industry as a designer, merchandiser, illustrator and graphic artist.
Maryellen also ran and managed many other businesses, ranging from fashion and textile design, website design, social media management and a few others along the way.
Maryellen grew up in New Jersey and spent six years living in Colorado.  Maryellen a confirmed east coaster, now resides back in New Jersey with her husband and daughter.  Savoy Bath and Home started selling online in early 2016 and is expanding to retailers throughout the country.
